Therapy for teens in Windsor

A place to talk when school, relationships, expectations, or emotions feel hard to carry alone.

Teens may reach out because of anxiety, low mood, stress, changing relationships, identity questions, family tension, school pressure, or a general sense that something feels off. Therapy offers a professional setting to talk about what is happening. The process, privacy, consent, and involvement of a parent or guardian depend on the teen’s capacity, circumstances, and applicable requirements.

Please do not include private health details in email or voicemail.

01

The teen is part of the conversation

Therapy is not something done around a young person without explanation. The proposed service, goals, privacy boundaries, possible benefits and risks, alternatives, and right to ask questions are discussed in age appropriate language.

02

Privacy and family involvement are explained first

The therapist discusses what information is private, the legal and safety limits of confidentiality, and how communication with a parent or guardian will be handled. These details are addressed before therapy begins rather than assumed from age alone.

03

Fit and availability are confirmed during consultation

A parent, guardian, or teen can ask general questions about the service. Please do not send detailed clinical information through ordinary email or voicemail. The consultation is not therapy and does not confirm that the service is appropriate for every situation.

Questions about this service

What you may want to know before contacting Sonder.

Does a parent need to consent to teen therapy?

Consent depends on the young person’s capacity, age, circumstances, and applicable law. The therapist explains the consent process and any parent or guardian role before service begins.

Will parents be told everything discussed in therapy?

No blanket answer applies. Privacy expectations, family communication, record keeping, and the legal and safety limits of confidentiality are explained before therapy begins.

Is online therapy available for teens?

It may be available when online care is appropriate. Location, privacy, technology, emergency planning, consent, and family circumstances are considered first.
